Elderly/Disabled Units in family developments


Walnut Street ApartmentsWalnut Street Apartments is a federally funded, family development; however, twenty-four units, 4-12 and 16-24 Walnut Street, are designated for elderly/disabled residents. These two story, garden-style buildings are located next to our federaly funded, high-rise family building, 22 High Street (see picture). Together they comprise our Walnut Street Apartments development. The Manager's office is on the first floor of 22 High Street.

The development is a block away from Route 9 (Boyston Street) and Brookline Village with its restaurants, shopping and banking. Jamaica Pond is within walking distance as are Huntington and South Huntington Avenues. The Green Line's "D" Reservoir trolley and the #66 bus stop almost across the street from the development. There is assigned parking, a park area within the development and, at 22 High Street, a community room, and a computer learning center.
