Federal Eligibility Requirements
Age Requirements: In our Federally-funded, elderly/disabled developments, the head-of-household must be at least 62-years old. Disabled persons can be of any age.
Household Income Requirements: Applicant income (including income from assets) cannot be greater than the “Low Income” column for each household size shown below. These income limits are adjusted annually by the Department of Housing and Urban Development. The Median Family Income Limits below are effective as of April 1, 2020.
The BHA also checks the following for all applicant household members:
Credit report (18+)
Landlord history (18+)
Criminal history (14+ and any Personal Care Assistant)

Federal Elderly & Disabled Properties
Completed preliminary applications may be mailed, faxed or emailed with signature, or brought to the main office at 90 Longwood Avenue. Please Note: Due to the COVID-19 Health Crisis, hand deliveries of applications will not be accepted until further notice.
You will receive an acknowledgement of the receipt of your application in approximately 30 days. The receipt will have a Control Number and the approximate time of your wait.
