Record Turnout for BHA Summer Cookout
The Brookline Housing Authority held its first summer cookout this week, for the residents of the Trustman, Egmont, and 86 Dummer St. properties. With more than 200 people in attendance (a guesstimate is fine) the event highlighted the best of our collaborative, community building efforts.
In addition to more than 350 hamburgers and hot dogs served, residents learned about the range of resident services that the BHA offers, including ESOL classes, computer literacy classes, and youth programs. Community partners in attendance included Steps to Success, the Brookline Police Walk and Talk officers, Women Thriving Inc., and the Brookline Teen Center. Also joining were Town of Brookline Select Board members Raul Fernandez and Ben Franco and BHA commissioners Joanne Sullivan and Mike Jacobs.
